I like to finish this massage with a nice therapeutic salt glow applied to your choice of back, hands or feet. Not only does this feel good, but using a himalayan fine salt and customized aromatherapy to promote further health benefits, this therapy further aides in relieving soreness and drawing toxins from the body.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, LD can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage therapy. The word Shiatsu comes from two Japanese words - "shi" (finger) and "atsu" (pressure). In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the energy pathways of your body, gentle stretching techniques are applied over a wider area of the body to integrate the point work and encourage the flow of Chi (energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu is a meditative healing art that honors the body, mind and spirit.
Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than most other forms of massage therapy. It's also called Thai Yoga massage, because I use my hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like postures and stretches. My clients say Thai massage is like doing yoga without doing any of the work. No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed during the session. A single Thai massage session will help you release stress and relieve pain, and help you function more effectively at work and home.
Jin Shin is a disarmingly simple system of acupressure. It lays out a set of "points" along the major energy pathways of your body. If one of your pathways becomes blocked, this creates stagnation in your energy field and leads to illness or discomfort. I use my hands to gently release any blockages in your energy pathways, and restore balance to your entire system. The whole experience is very relaxing, nurturing and therapeutic.
Focused BREATH, intentful MOVEMENT, allowing MINDFULNESS, and soothing RELAXATION are the four pillars to the ancient practice of Qigong.
During your session, we can focus on Movement Education or Whole Body Systems Assessment. OPTION A OR B.
A. Movement education uses a custom-tailored approach to improving your body awareness and movement skills. Combining problem-solving, guided-discovery, and exploratory methods, this practice inevitably leads to a stronger connection between the mind and body, creating a more natural and graceful experience of movement and interaction with other people. (Group Sessions are available).
B. Whole Body System Assessment and Care considers the individual's energetic field. It is a form of care that is primarily done without physical touch, except to connect to Jing Well points on hands and feet. This is a beautiful form of energetic body work, that not only feels restorative but opens up an individual for healing of tissues and emotions. After assessment, the session concludes with a wellness qigong form.
Acupressure is based on one the most ancient principles of healing - that simply touching a specific point on the body will release stress and improve health in the body. In an acupressure session, I apply firm pressure directly to these "points" on your body, which relieves your muscle tension and improves your circulation. This simple and powerful technique has been shown to very effective in treating headaches, backaches, and even insomnia.
Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
Abdominal Massage is a technique that has been used by multiple cultures since the time of the ancients. Palpating the belly has been thought to promote health and wellness in many ways, including pain relief of back, hips and abdomen, stress relief and emotional support, and overall improvement of the functioning of the digestive tract.
Allowing this type of massage into your session, is truly beneficial. Let's talk about how this can help you balance the body.
Can be preformed fully clothed or properly draped.
Do you feel you would benefit from having your posture assessed through observation, palpation and evaluation of limitations through various range of motion movements?
Let's have a discussion of your concerns and assess. This is very slow and intentful therapy using strokes to lengthen muscle fibers, release adhesions, improve elasticity, and increase nutrient blood and oxygen circulation. Continual communication is essential between the therapist and client, as the intensity of the pressure should never be gauged above a 7, on a scale of 1-10.
After the bodywork is performed, you will be asked to go into tense and relax stretches. This work is a game changer, in re-patterning the brain to let go of holding patterns of muscle tissues.
I believe we all can improve our daily habits to help reduce daily aches and to assist us in aging more gracefully.
Myofascial massage is a technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level. While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this important membrane.
Please note: THIS IS AN AREA SPECIFIC MASSAGE, not intended for full body.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Cupping is much like the inverse of massage – rather than applying pressure to muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. For most patients, this is a particularly relaxing and relieving sensation. Once suctioned, the cups are generally left in place for about ten minutes while the patient relaxes.
I prefer the gliding and pumping techniques.
An add-on service using a hand-held percussion device, to soften tissues and increase mobility.
For targeted areas only, 10 minutes can include up to 3 body locations and 30 minutes can include up to 6 body areas.
Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated himalayan basalt stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
Use of these stones help ground and balance the body's electromagnetic field and central nervous system. This can be done as a full body massage or add-on service.
Receiving a hot and cold stone massage equally can bring the benefits and pleasures of combining both.
In addition, massaging and alternating the hot and cool stones helps every cell in the body to receive more oxygen and nutrients and moves lymph thereby encouraging a more effective removal of toxins.
Blood vessels will rise to the surface and dilate when the hot stone is applied and then vessels will constrict and move blood back to the inner core muscles when cold is applied. The opening and closing of the blood vessels causes a pumping action within the circulatory system which brings in more blood to the lungs and heart. It’s pretty much a vascular gymnastics for the body. It allows the body to achieve the same level of relaxation and rejuvenation as going to a sauna and jumping in the plunge pool but with the benefit of a massage included.
The combination of the hot and cold stones are extremely relaxing and clients often can’t tell the difference between the hot and cold.
Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called "moxa" are burned very near the surface of the skin. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of Qi in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences. Moxa is usually made from the dried leafy material of Chinese mugwort.
Polarity therapy is a type of bodywork which is focused on the energy fields of the body, rather than the physical body itself. This type of body work is also called energy work, because the practitioner attempts to adjust the skewed energy fields of the body and bring them into balance. During a polarity therapy session, the therapist and client usually work together in a very calm, relaxed environment.
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. During a session, I work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy. Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct the necessary energy force between us. The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.
Paraffin moist heat therapy is used to relieve pain, inflammation and stiffness. This thermotherapy effectively increases blood flow to aid in rehabilitation, overuse of hands or arthritis. It softens and leaves a youthful glow to dry and cracked skin.
The benefits of therapeutic aromatherapy are many! Together, we can select the essential oil to use during your session to further enhance your massage experience.
doTerra Essential Oils are third party tested for their therapeutic qualities and will be the EO used in sessions.
Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home or workplace. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.
(Hot Synergy Stone Therapy can be added on: $50 per 45 minutes).
